Feels like being in European bakery! The moment you step in their doors the aroma is overcoming with a delightful bakery tasty smells as good as it tastes. I just wish they would serve cappuccino etc with their baked goods that will really give them the essence of Europe!!

This place is delicious! Highly recommend ordering cakes for events from them.

Best pastries in New England. German/Austrian style baking. Great oatmeal bread. Cheap prices compared to Boston or NYC and better tasting bread baked in-house.

Closest thing to reminding me of being back in Europe. Absolutely love their black forest chocolate cake and homemade breads - Their oatmeal bread is my favorite! It's always a great option to pick up a quick pre-made sandwich for less than $6...can't beat the price, quality and the fact that it is way healthier than anything else I can pick up at a standard fast food restaurant.

Bread and Chocolate is the best bakery I've been too in a while. Although they favor their "loyal"customers with more service and compassion than the general public. They are the Best order out bakery I've been to in Concord!

When I get over to Concord,I must bring the croissants to my son and bread and chocolate to his wife, love the cream puffs, tarts and all. We love his Multigrain bread. Wish he were in Keene.

Too bad the owner has made this a poor experience. Twice in a few years I have dealt with him around the holidays and he speaks poorly to his customers who want to order from him. Refusing to take orders, phone constantly busy (taken off the hook?) To be fair he has some of the best bakery items around (earning him 2 stars, otherwise he gets 1) which has led him to be so sucessful he can obviously afford to treat his customers poorly. I will miss eating his bread and chocolate but I'm of the old saying "burn me once, shame on you, burn me twice shame on me." Good bye B and C, you better hope another bakery worth its salt with a friendly, customer appreciating owner doesn't find its way to Concord.

You will not be disappointed. This place will become a favorite of yours. Genuine handmade Austrian pastry! Get there early for the best selection, things sell quickly. Delish!

Love this little place- the lunch sandwiches are fantastic! We make it a point to buy pastries and cakes here for specail occasions throughout the year.

Possibly some of the best home made dessert I have ever had. The owner is from Europe, therefore my understanding is they focus on flavor without being overly sweet yet delicious! The bread and other items are also very good. The pricing is extremely fair for their quality and consistency.

Great bakery, love this place good coffee

Decided to finally try this bakery...stopped in mid-afternoon the other day for coffee and dessert. Ran out of decaf, and none was remade. The desserts were very good. Took home a loaf of grain bread, asked it was fresh, told yes...could barely cut through it with a bread knife that evening! Will not go back.

Such a cute place! The atmosphere is old-timey and unique. I bought a croissant and corn muffin. Great!

Fabulous everything ... always order their mousse cakes for special occasions ... croissants are devine ... tasty sandwiches for lunch ... walk in the door and you’ll want to buy some of everything! Love their quaint interior, feels like you’re sitting in a bake shop in Europe! Staff is always polite, hardworking and helpful!

Best bakery in Concord NH

I have been a devoted customer since I first moved to the area over 10 years ago. I was amazed at the authenticity of Franz's baking and food combinations. He is a master of all his work. Favorites I've enjoyed are: the Chocolate Truffle Cake, Opera Cake, Cream Puffs, Lemon Cream Cake, and the Fruit Tarts are the BEST in the state. You must must go there. He is a wonderful man who loves to share his love of others and food! Enjoy!

Wonderful bakery with a wide selection of offerings, delicious and served joyfully. In addition to baked goods, also has a small, but excellent choice of coffees and sandwiches.

One can't walk by without being tempted by the delicious smells emanating from this bakery! The ham & cheese croissants are a favorite--the pastry is buttery and flaky. Great sandwiches, too. I've not enjoyed any of the bread or desserts yet, but the fruit tarts look amazing. Friendly owner. I just wish they were open a bit earlier, I don't have time to stop in on work days. Regardless, it's the best bakery in Concord!

European Bakery with fantastic breads, pastries, cakes, tarts, and sandwiches. The baker is from Austria and it shows in the precision and quality. This is the single best shop on Main Street. A loaf of the fresh sourdough Spelt Bread is a sensual experience. The hard crust, tender interior and tangy flavor are just right. This is a place for the classics, not the trendy or cute, where depth of flavor matters more than sweetness. Croissants, muffins, eclairs, elaborately decorated fresh fruit tarts, decadent cakes, a cup of coffee. The Opera Cake is memorable. Sandwiches are prepared fresh just in time for lunch. There are vegetarian sandwiches, standards like turkey or tuna, all the way to the meaty earthy reuben. Most are available on a couple types of bread. It's worth experimenting. Highly recommended.

Superb Austrian bakery

Best bakery ever. Nothing better than their oatmeal bread for toast & sandwiches. Their fruit flans are heavenly. Croissants devine. Haven't had anything there which wasn't top notch edible.

Amazing bakery...authentic excellent recipes with delicious results. Whether a loaf of bread...bread and chocolate..a blueberry cake omg... pastries, cakes..and wonderful sandwiches for a quick and delicious lunch. Just can not get any better! A must for us when we are nearby and sometimes even just make the trek because it is so yummy. Thank you!

Best bakery I've ever been to. From the elcairs to the macoroons every item is made with quality. The prices are great and the aura is inviting.

Usually this place is good, but I don't think they know how to handle their holiday business. The stuff always tastes awesome, but for Thansgiving I ordered 2 cakes and both tasted good but the one was lopsided like the leaning Tower of Pisa.For Christmas I ordered a dessert tray 2 weeks in advance. When I went to pick it up I was told they didn't have the time to make it??? Granted they gave me a free cake, it was alright, but I was highly disappointed as I and everyone else was looking forward to the tray of mini desserts. I'll think twice before ordering for a holiday again.

My favorite bakery in town. The cake is the best I've had since leaving Vienna. The sandwiches and pastries are excellent too. Prices are very reasonable.

The bakery is a one-of-a-kind the breads and the deserts, there are excellent, little on the pricey side but very very good, worth a stop
